The raised outer lip holds spills on the mat instead of letting them run onto the floor, and the textured underside keeps it in place while your pet eats. It rolls up for storage and travel, and it wipes clean in seconds.
Worth knowing: a mat catches mess after it happens. To stop it at the source, add a MessMate splash guard, which keeps food and water inside the bowl in the first place. With the guard on, the mat has far less to catch.

How does the non-slip design work?
The underside is textured silicone, which grips smooth hard floors like tile, hardwood and laminate through friction and its own weight. It isn't adhesive and doesn't attach to the floor.
Does floor prep affect how well it stays in place?
Yes. Wipe the floor dry before you lay the mat down. Even a light film of water or grease underneath reduces grip, and on freshly waxed or highly polished floors the mat may slide more easily.
My cat pushes the mat around while eating. What helps?
Set the mat against a wall or cabinet so it has a fixed edge to press against. A heavier bowl on top also adds the downward pressure that keeps the mat settled.
Can I put it in the dishwasher?
Yes, on the top rack, away from the heating element. Standard cycles are fine; skipping the heated dry setting now and then is gentler on the silicone over time.
