Fit and installation

1Measure
Lay a tape measure across the top of your empty bowl, from the inside of the rim to the inside of the rim. Anything from 7 to 9 inches works.
2Clip
Wrap the guard around the outside of the bowl with the opening facing your pet. Overlap the two ends and press the studs into the holes, starting on the loosest.
3Attach
Settle the strap just under the rim, then press the top edge of the wall. It should flex and spring back. If the strap slides, clip it one position tighter.

This fixed the mess my dog makes every time he eats. Food stays in the bowl and the floor stays clean.
My dog splashes water everywhere when drinking, and this helped more than I expected. The guard keeps most of the water inside the bowl and the floor stays cleaner after meals.
I bought this because my cat throws food out of the bowl every day. After adding the guard, the food stays inside much more and I don't have to sweep the floor all the time.
Simple idea but very useful. I have tried mats before but this works better because the food stays in the bowl instead of falling outside. Easy to clean and easy to remove.
We use this for both food and water bowls and it helped with both. Less splashing, less kibble on the floor, and overall cleaner feeding time for our dog.
This attachment made a big difference for my dog. He always pushed food out of the bowl while eating, and now most of it stays inside. It fits well on our regular bowl and feels strong enough for daily use.
Very easy to install and remove when cleaning. The silicone is soft but strong and holds its shape well. Works exactly like shown in the pictures.

Not sure it'll fit? Measure straight across the top opening of your pet's bowl, where the inside walls meet the rim. Seven to nine inches and you're set. If you'd rather not measure, or your bowl is an unusual shape, the Bowl + Splash Guard Set arrives already matched, so the fit is guaranteed.
The guard is one piece of food-grade, BPA-free silicone. Flex it, seat it inside the rim, press the edge down. The raised wall catches food and water on the way out and drops it back into the bowl. It works on stainless steel, ceramic and plastic bowls, for food and water alike.
If the bowl sits against a wall, the guard also protects paint and baseboards: water splashed over the rim is most of what reaches the wall. More on protecting the wall behind the bowl.
When it needs cleaning, lift it out and put it on the top rack of the dishwasher. It's reusable, so there's nothing to replace.
